![]() The extravagant special effects-merely par for the course in any modern would-be blockbuster-are one factor, but spectacular as the many explosions, gunfights, and various displays of pyrotechnics are, there's more to it than that, an overriding sense of fun that makes all the conventional weaknesses of the film meaningless. The story may not make a whole lot of sense, but it is a lot of fun. There's a certain energy and enthusiasm to the film that is infectious, even via the big screen. But somehow, despite it all, Battleship stays afloat. And I certainly don't remember any aliens in the game I had. Even the idea that the movie is based on Hasbro's classic board game of the same name is rather disingenuous: yes, there is a battleship involved in the action, almost all of which takes place at sea, but other than that any resemblance to the game we all grew up playing seems purely coincidental. The plot is incredulous and the script couldn't be riddled with more holes if you unloaded a shotgun at it. Get ready to encounter the American superdreadnought “Texas”, the Soviet flamethrower tank TO-55, the American F-16C version Block 50 fighter jet, and the Chinese-Pakistani MBT-2000 tank among other additions. On a certain level, there's no way I can claim that Battleship is a good movie in any conventional sense. The “Sons of Attila” update doesn’t stop at Hungarian vehicles. This marks an interesting branching point for War Thunder players looking to diversify their Italian line-ups. Here’s the kicker: these Hungarian armored vehicles will be incorporated into the Italian ground vehicles research tree. Hungarian Vehicles Join the Italian Research Tree The Lynx KF41 BMP is currently exclusive to the Hungarian forces. For those who dig more firepower, the Lynx comes equipped with the Lance 2.0 weapon module, housing a Rheinmetall Wotan 35 mm autocannon and Spike ATGMs. It features the ADS hard kill active protection system, capable of detecting enemy projectiles and neutralizing them in mid-air. If you’re a fan of quick, agile scout units, the Csaba’s high speed, independent suspension, and 20mm cannon will likely catch your eye.įast forward to the modern age, the Lynx KF41 BMP stands as a cutting-edge infantry fighting vehicle. During WWII, this vehicle saw action in several fronts, including Yugoslavia, the USSR, Poland, and Hungary. The 39.M Csaba, named after Attila the Hun’s youngest son, is an armored car developed in 1932 by Hungarian engineer Nicholas Straussler. In line with War Thunder’s commitment to accuracy, these new Hungarian vehicles are designed to mirror their real-world specs. “Hungarian designers have created quite a few interesting vehicles that will expand the range of possible setups for players,” he explained. Vyacheslav Bulannikov, War Thunder’s game director, says the new additions aim to diversify players’ options without compromising game balance. These new in-game toys represent various eras of Hungary’s military tech, ranging from the WWII-era 39.M Csaba to the contemporary Lynx KF41 BMPs. Set to drop this September, the game is bolstering its military vehicle roster by adding a line-up of Hungarian armored vehicles. Gaijin Entertainment is leveling up War Thunder with their upcoming major update, tagged “Sons of Attila”.
